David Lama - Das Unmögliche möglich machen Vod

David Lama - Das Unmögliche möglich machen

    Hans-Peter Stauber (2014)

The Tyrolean David Lama has climbed an 8a route already at the age of ten, and he has become several times Youth World Champion and European Youth Champion in bouldering and lead climbing. In 2010, at the age of 20 years, David decided to leave the indoor climbing and competition world behind him. Since then, he is focusing on Alpinism, the most difficult routes and first ascents in the Alps, but as well in India and America. This documentary portrays David Lama from his first climbing attempts as a little boy to his big adventures in present time. We see famous locations, such as the climbing paradise on Lake Garda, the notorious Sagwand Face in the Zillertal Alps, and the 7.821m high Masherbrum in the Karakorum with its still untouched north east face.

    Himalayan Ice Vod

    Himalayan Ice

    Ari Novak (2019)

In December 2018, alpinists Ari Novak and Karsten Delap set out for India to explore one of the most remote valleys in the Indian Himalaya with local climber Karn Kowshik. Their goal was to meet with the indigenous population of the Spiti Valley and try to support local ice climbing. What they found was perhaps the biggest treasure trove of unclimbed ice in all the Himalaya. Himalayan Ice tells the history-making story of their journey to put up 9 first ascents and start an ice climbing movement by the local population. From their journey to the valley along the most treacherous road on earth to walking amongst Snow Leopards, the expedition was anything but expected.

Cerro Kishtwar - An Ice Cold Story

    Julian Zanker (2018)

The Kashmir mountains were barred to foreign alpinists for several years. The ban was lifted early in 2010 and Stephan Siegrist, Denis Burdet, and David Lama made the first expedition into the region the following year to climb Cerro Kishtwar alpine style. They reached the summit via the north-west side. Siegrist had spotted a new line on the face, however, and returned in 2017 with Huber and Zanker, but the difficulties were harder than expected and they encountered difficult technical climbing.

    No man's land

    Matthias Mayr (2018)

Due to the extreme cold, the glaciated terrain and the desert climate, freeskiing in Antarctica seemed to be impossible. But the two freeskiers and adventurers Matthias Haunholder and Matthias Mayr don ́t care if regions are ment to be too remote or harsh for skiing. They are getting even more attracted by so called hard conditions. Together with cinematographer Johannes Aitzetmüller they set over for an unsupported expedition into the mainland of Antarctica to find beautiful mountains for skiing. The 3 men team, each hauling a 90kg sled, covered a distance of more than 150km by hiking and using kites. What they found, was much better than expected. The 'holy grale' of freeriding.
