The festival aims to increase the mountaineering film production in Slovenia, and to popularize mountain culture. Film competition is completed with lectures, mountaineering literature presentations, exhibitions and retrospectives.
The films compete for the Main Award of the Town of Domžale, for awards in each category (mountaineering, climbing, mountains, sports and adventure, and mountain nature and culture) and for other prizes.
Member of the International Alliance for Mountain Film (IAMF).
