On May 3, 1964, France sent an expedition to conquer the summit of the Himalayas, which reached a height of more than 8,000 metres. Two experienced mountaineers, Esglace and Espérance, already winners of more than 200 summits, set out to conquer it in the heart of the Kakamouse and Kalou mountains, a veritable pile of seracs, crevasses and rocks that holds the most prestigious expeditions in check. The film follows the last hours of the ascent of the French rope and the arrival at the top of the two friends where a surprise awaits them.
