Summer 1938. In the same year that saw the historic conquest of the north of the Eiger, the Lecco alpinist Riccardo Cassin, together with Luigi Esposito and Ugo Tizzoni, solved one of the last problems still open in the Alps: the very direct north of the Grandes Jorasses, the route leading to the Walker point, the highest of the group.
