Grimpeurs

In 1961 the south wall of the Central Pillar of Mont Blanc was still untouched. Two teams of climbers decided to unite and try to open up a new route. Four days of violent thunderstorms blocked the men in climbing, 80 meters from the summit. Of the seven climbers, only three returned home. One of the most intense and dramatic pages in the history of mountaineering lives again thanks to the stories and images of that undertaking.
