Geoffrey Stevens is the son of a mountaineer killed in a mountain accident while trying to climb the Matterhorn. Despite his fears, he finally decides to try climbing the mountain to honor his father's memory. Faced with the guide Hugo Lanier for the love of a local woman, during the ascent, the guide intends to kill him.
