The climbing paradise of the big city is following in the footsteps of the myth of 'buildering', facade climbing, which began at the end of the 19th century by mountaineers such as Geoffrey Winthrop Young in the USA and recently became popular in Eastern Europe through roofing. The Viennese building scene has been active since the 1990s and has since 'first climbed' many buildings in Vienna - many of them illegal.
