In this episode of the series 'Les parois de la mémoire', two legendary mountaineers, Heinrich Harrer and Anderl Heckmair, bring to life through their narrative the victorious climb of the north wall of the Eiger in 1938. This terrifying wall, represented for a century the biggest alpine climbing problem. Climbing attempts have so far claimed more than 40 lives, and the victory of Harrer and Heckmair was the result of a daring venture that can hardly be imagined even today. In this evocation we also speak of the famous attempt in 1935 of the strings of the Austrians Angerer and Reiner and the Germans Hinterstoisser and Kurz, tragically interrupted.
