Le Dhaulagiri, montagne des vents

On October 4, 1984, two mountaineers from Grenoble, Pierre Beghin and Jean-Noël Roche, climb the south-west pillar of Dhaulagiri in alpine style and without supplemental oxygen. The route, opened by a wide and 'heavy' Japanese expedition in 1978, follows the western ridge and presents 3000m of vertical ascent in mixed terrain. Beghin and Roche complete the second ascent and the first one in alpine style. There, on the mountain of the winds, Jean-Noël Roche performs a paragliding flight from an altitude of more than 5000 meters.
