Jean Afanasieff, a film director and the first Frenchman to climb Everest, pays homage to the veteran Georges Livanos, nicknamed 'the Greek', a famous mountaineer whose best performances were accomplished between 1950 and 1960. The documentary gives a clear-cut portrait. The personage comes out well on the screen and is genuine. A man who has made mountaineering history and is a point of reference for the new generations of climbers of Calanques, in Marseilles.
