Expedition Lyon first 8000-Gasherbrum II 8035m organized and led by Jean-Pierre Fresafond in 1975, sponsored by the Lyon section of the French Alpine Club and by Louis Pradel, Mayor of Lyon. The film follows the departure of Berliet heavy goods vehicles loaded with equipment from Lyon, daily life in Pakistan, the preparation of the expedition and the approach walk with the carriers, daily life at the base camp and in the high altitude camps, and the arrival at the summit.
