A bumbling, self-indulgent husband played by Ernst Lubitsch wants to get away for a fun weekend without his wife, so he fakes an illness for which his doctor prescribes fresh air and a country environment. He travels to a Swiss Tirol village, where he meets a popular, attractive young woman taking a similar break from her spouse. Recently befriended man and lady decide to go on a mountain climb. Their respective spouses on the other hand are also up to something. This is one of those characteristic films of the Lubitsch's Germanic stage; a satirical and ironic look on marriage and the bourgeoisie, full of sarcastic comments and hilarious situations.
