This is the documentation of the second pre-Himalaian camp carried out in the winter of 1954 by the Italian K2 expedition. The expedition finally succeeded in ascending to the summit of K2 via the Abruzzi Spur on 31 July 1954. The expedition was led by Ardito Desio, and the two climbers who reached the summit were Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni.
