In 1999 a film crew ventured into a perilous realm to film a drama, set on the most dangerous mountain on earth. That's how the making of Vertical limit is presented. The documentary takes a look at 'the dangers' that were faced during the making of the picture. After a promotional introduction, the film starts by following the actors while they are trained in rock climbing, mountaineering and ice climbing for one month. Then it shows the logistics problems of filming on the mountain (the mountain scenes were shot in the New Zealand's Southern Alps) and presents the story and the main characters. Finally it focusses on the work of the director and Ed Viesturs comments us about the featured mountain, K2.
