In 1995 the mountaineers and the whole of the Slovene nation announced with pride the completion of the great project to climb all the eight thousands, begun with a new route on Makalu in 1975 and terminated with the descent on skis of Annapurna in 1995. The Slovene radio-television with the film director Matjaz Fistravec decided to celebrate the event with a film which tells the story of the little nation's aspiration to enter the world history book of great explorations and conquests in wastelands.
