Wallis, 'Hot summer... fast pistes' shows different summer mountaineering activities in the Canton of Valais, Switzerland. The documentary follows two skiers on their way to summer skiing. During their descent, they first meet Michel Darbellay, the single conqueror of the Eiger North Face, rock climbing a sharp needle. Later on the descent, they meet a roped couple ascending snow slopes with crampons. The film ends with the skiers arriving at the village where they taste raclette and white wine and are entertained with a demonstration of traditional regional dances.
