Each episode of Still Alive features people sharing never-seen-before video footage as they recount how they survived nail-biting life-or-death situations. In this episode, two climbers (Brice Portwood and Ed Warren) fight for survival after being swept off a mountainside by an avalanche of ice and snow when they were trying to climb a mixed route in the Snowy Range of Wyoming. The episode also features two other stories: an adventurer saves the life of his best friend when he blacks out underwater while spearfishing; two men are chased by a black bear while jogging in a Canadian forest.

Badly injured, with several ribs broken and a fractured arm, he must climb out alone or will die. The episode also features two other stories: a man plummets to earth in free-fall when his parachute malfunctions, and a woman almost drowns after being dumped from a raft in the Colorado River.
