Agur Everest
Juan Ignacio Lorente (1981)
In 1974 the first Basque Everest expedition had to retire 300 meters below the summit because of the monsoon. That first Basque attempt to climb Everest in 1974 left a feeling of frustration to Basque mountaineering. Six years later, in 1980, Martín Zabaleta, together with Sherpa Pasang Temba, members of the second Basque Everest expedition, reach the roof of the world. The film shows images from both expeditions. The first expedition was filmed in 35mm by Fernando Larruquert and Angel Lerma; the second was filmed in Super 16mm by Juan Ignacio Lorente, Martín Zabaleta and other members of the expedition.Juan Ignacio Lorente, Fernando Larruquert
