An Antarctic mountaineering expedition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the 1897-99 Belgian Antarctic Expedition, the first winter expedition to the Antarctic Region. In 1998, a team of twelve young amateurs set off to the highest point of the Antarctic continent: Mount Vinson (4.897m). The team is composed of one Swissman, two Frenchmen and seven Belgians, among whom Henri de Gerlache, great-grandson of Adrien de Gerlache, the leader of the 1897 expediton.- 1998
