    The Asgard project

    Alastair Lee (2009)

Leo teams up with fellow big wall climbing god, Stanley Leary. The duo hope to make a wingsuit descent from the summit. Arriving late in the season the trip soon begins to go wrong, after a spectacular arrival skydiving over Mt Asgard, conditions turn against the team where just reaching the base of the climb becomes a massive challenge. Prior to the Baffin Island expedition the excitement builds with extreme training trips; Speed-climbing in Riglos, Spain, Wingsuit flying in Monte Brento, Italy and free climbing on El Capitan in Yosemite.

    The last great climb Vod

    The last great climb

    Alastair Lee (2013)

Are rock stars Leo Houlding, Sean “Stanley” Leary, and Jason Pickles up to their old tricks again? Maybe so, but they’ve brought along a few new friends and hopes of a bold new line on a remote spire in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica. They’re going big again – the majestic unclimbed Ulvetanna Peak is their goal this time. But they’re in the middle of nowhere, miserably cold, a bit delirious. Hopefully it’s nothing a little adrenaline can’t cure.

Spectre Expedition - To the End of the Earth Vod

Spectre Expedition - To the End of the Earth

    Alastair Lee (2018)

How about attempting the second summit of the most remote mountain on Earth? The plan, by design, is ambitious; it requires kite skiing almost 2,000 kilometers round trip, towing gear on sleds, just to reach the highly technical peak, known, menacingly, as The Spectre. The three expedition members battle logistics, distance, wind and no-wind, frostbite, crevasses, and wrong turns. 'Who’d have thought I’d actually get here one day?' says expedition leader Leo Houlding, as the team closes in on the objective. He can be forgiven for scarcely believing where he finds himself. Who else could ever claim that 'We are the most remote people on Planet Earth right now'?

    Matt Pycroft (2016)

The need for adventure resides deep in all of us. In the case of renowned adventurer Leo Houlding, this has manifested itself in the form of world class expeditions to unclimbed peaks the world over. ‘Mirror Wall’, the debut feature film from Coldhouse Collective, follows Leo approaching his latest expedition with a reconsidered mentality and attitude. Following the death of his close friend Sean ‘Stanley’ Leary and trying to balance potentially dangerous situations with the responsibilities of parenthood - Leo is left leading a team of determined, talented but ultimately inexperienced young guns up one of the tallest big walls in the world.
