André Roch - La montagne pour passion
- 1990
- Switzerland
The film evokes the brilliant career of the Geneva-based mountaineer André Roch, one of the most significant figures in the history of Swiss mountaineering. With Robert Greloz, his faithful companion, he played a leading role in the conquest of the last untouched walls of the Mont Blanc massif and the Valais Alps; Roch was the author of twenty-four first climbs in the Western Alps, eight in Greenland and fifteen in the Himalayas. A highly talented writer, photographer, painter and filmmaker, he used the camera to document most of the expeditions in which he participated.
