    Free Flow

    Paul Diffley (2019)

Hazel Findlay enjoys an epic day of mountain running and solo climbing in the Welsh mountains of Snowdonia. Stunning shots combine with a considered soundtrack underpinned by a subtle environmental message. The first version of the film, which toured with the Brit Rock Film Tour 2018, consisted in essentially the same video editing but with a different text. Sometime later, Paul Diffley together with Hazel Findlay revised the script and wrote an alternative version, which ended up being this final piece.

Climbing blind - Brit Rock Vod

    Climbing blind - Brit Rock

    Alastair Lee (2019)

Jesse Dufton was born with 20% central vision. At four years of age Jesse was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa: a rare genetic disease that breaks down the retinas' cells. At aged 20 Jesse could no longer read, by the time he was 30 his vision was reduced to just light perception with around 1 or 2% field of view. As a life long climber, Jesse flies in the face of adversity training for world cup events and leading traditional rock climbs with his sight guide and fiancee Molly. As his sight degenerates his climbing continues to make remarkable progress. Despite his devastating condition Jesse only takes on bigger challenges by attempting to be the first blind person to make a 'non-sight' lead of the iconic Old Man of Hoy sea stack in Scotland.

    Blood Moon - Brit Rock

    Alastair Lee (2018)

Robbie Phillips, Calum Cunningham and Alan Carne attempt to open a new climb, ground up, on a 700m Big Wall called Tsaranoro Atsimo in Madagascar. Once the free climbing begins disaster strikes, Alan takes a bad fall shattering his lower right leg, an epic ordeal unfolds to get Alan from the remote big wall to safety. Then, Robbie and Calum must decide whether to continue with their push or give in to their emotions. This version of the film, 10 minutes shorter, was part of the 2018 Brit Rock Film Tour.
