The Delago Tower is one of the six Vajolet towers that have attracted climbers from all over the world since the end of the 19th century. An ascent to the Ortler, the highest peak in South Tirol, by Hermann Magerer through the classic Hintergrat route. The Hintergrat is a fairly exposed ridge that ascends the mountain from the east. It is a very scenic and popular route that is a bit more difficult than the normal route. This was one of the first programs of Begauf Bergab, the mountaineering programme on the German BR television. Bergauf-Bergab has had a fixed place on Bavarian Television since 1975 and is one of the oldest broadcasting formats in the programmes of Bayerischer Rundfunk.- 1975

However, several times after the successes on the mountain, there were disputes between the expedition leader and individual participants.
