Das Matterhorn - Vom Mythos zur Marke

Das Matterhorn - Vom Mythos zur Marke

    Gerald Salmina (2015)

On 14 July 1865 the Matterhorn was first climbed. Bergwelten takes this event as an opportunity to take a look at the most exciting events on the most famous mountain in the Alps. From the first summit ascent, the first ascent of the north face in 1931 and the legendary winter solo entrance of the Italian Walter Bonatti in 1965, to the unique achievements of today's mountaineers. The film impresses with spectacular climbing shots and unique shots of the film work in the wall. And it accompanies people whose lives are inseparably linked to the unique mountain on the Swiss-Italian border. The Zermatt mountain guide Michi Lerjen grew up on the Swiss side of the mountain. Hervé Barmasse, on the other hand, comes from the Italian side - as a scion of a mountain guide family, he knows the Matterhorn better than anyone else.

    Berge im kopf

    Matthias Affolter (2014)

The mountains are both an escape and a place of refuge for four generations of mountaineers. The film shows us their passion and the questions associated with their way of life. With Jacques Grandjean, we strain to reach alpine crystals in brittle rock on sheer rock faces. On the north face of the Gross Ruchen, we hear extreme climber Dani Arnold cursing in the windstorm. We accompany Stefan Siegrist on his expedition to Makalu’s western pillar in Nepal. Werner Munter, more than 70 years old, is still searching for new routes in the remotest areas of Val d’Hérens. Searching for the right path, the four guides face fundamental questions which concern us all: How much am I willing to risk to make my dreams come true? How much risk do you need in life?

    Je veux Vod

    Je veux

    Joachim Hellinger (2012)

French singer ZAZ was singing on a street corner in Montmartre, in a cabaret ensemble, and in a Latin rock band. Ever since her breakthrough two years ago she has given dozens of concerts in front of thousands of fans. But she has never sung at an altitude of 4800 meters. Her dream is a concert on Mont Blanc. Unplugged of course, only accompanied by her guitarist Benoît and Mathieu on the contrabass. But before they can play on the top of Europe all three musicians must ascend the mountain. Being quite green alpinists this is not an easy feat, not to mention the contrabass which has to be carried all the way up as well...
