Hunter Wood has quietly become one of the best big-mountain skiers in the world, but one of North America's most dangerous peaks has towered over everything he has done - the Grand. Now in his mid-thirties, with dead-end jobs and a disappointed father, he feels pressure to leave the mountains to 'make some money'. But, before Hunter can move on, he needs to test his abilities on the Grand. After witnessing two friends narrowly escape death - one is caught in an avalanche and the other falls into a crevasse - he nearly abandons his attempt. But the pull of the mountains is strong.
