Ekaitz Maiz

The word Pyrénéisme was invented by Henri Beraldi at the end of the 19th century. Its definition is not summarized as the practice of mountaineering in the Pyrenees. It is a sporting approach to the mountain accompanied by artistic or intellectual activity. In addition to questioning current mountaineers about whether they consider themselves pyrénéistes or not, the film is also a great tribute to the Pyrenees.

Nine outstanding climbers talk about the ethics, values, and nature of climbing. Arkaitz Yurrita introduces the brothers Jean Ravier and Pierre Ravier, Christian Ravier, Ekaitz Maiz, Mikel Zabalza, Albert Salvadó, Arkaitz Yurrita, Eneko César, and Unai Mendia; and all they show us the most hidden side of climbing the Pyrenees, reviewing some important routes: Sud-Est Classique al Midi d'Ossau; Lovers on the Wall of the Open Book; Awakening in Montrebei; Borrokan Aske in the Petite Aiguille d'Ansabére; Piztu da Piztia in the Peña Montañesa; Biscuit in the Fraucata, in Ordesa.
