The Big Bang
David Petts (2019)
In september 2019, when Emma Twyford powered, crimped and screamed her way to the top of The Big Bang at Lower Pen Trywn, she ended a three-year battle and entered British climbing’s history books as the first British woman to break the 9a barrier. In this 30-minute epic film, we follow her on her three-year journey to climb the route. Emma's ascent was the third absolute ascent of this route, first climbed in 1996 by Neil Carson. James McHaffie made the second ascent in 2011.- 2019
