    Jean Troillet, a strong Valais mountaineer and already a climber of ten 8,000, in 2011, while climbing in a rope with a friend, the west face of Annapurna was hit by a stroke. This was followed by a nightmarish descent and long rehabilitation. Then, Troillet's stubbornness and perseverance allowed him to recover almost completely. We will accompany him on a new expedition, this time horizontal, through the ice of the Canadian Great North. A film by Fulvio Mariani produced for the Sottosopra series.

    Walter Bonatti travels to Patagonia to retrace the extraordinary story of the Salesian explorer Alberto Maria De Agostini and his titanic exploration work of the lands and mountains of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. Recovering photos and actual footage of the De Agostini Expeditions, the film, entirely shot in Tierra del Fuego and Patagonia in 1999, is a real journey into the lands of myth, and proposes, in a curious perspective that combines present and past, a fantastic sequence of some of the most spectacular places and savages of the American regions of the far South.

Last year the Ticino doctor Reto Pezzoli, a great mountain enthusiast, took part in the Swiss expedition to the Himlung Himal (7126 m): a peak located between Everest and Annapurna. Purpose of the expedition: to collect information on the reaction of the human body at high altitude by exploiting the availability of about forty alpinists-cavia who have undergone intensive medical examinations up to 7000 meters in height. About thirty doctors and researchers followed the climb of the participants bringing home a multitude of data that will allow to deepen the scientific knowledge in this field. The images of the expedition and the story of one of the doctors involved.
