The most powerful peak in the Eastern Alps and Austria's highest mountain is the 3,798-meter high Großglockner. The fate mountain of the first alpinists rises from the Tauern massif like a watchman over an alpine natural paradise: chamois and ibex climb in the rock, alpine flowers glow, and an eagle glides over the summits.
