Im schatten des Manaslu
Karsten Scheuren (2014)
Short version of the documentary '7 tage im september'. In September 2012, the Bavarian extreme mountaineer Benedikt Böhm sets a world record in speed mountaineering. Without oxygen devices, he reaches the summit of Manaslu and skies down in record time. But over the summit victory hangs a dark shadow. A few days before, when he and his mountain mate Sebastian Haag started the ascent, eleven climbers had been killed by an avalanche at this mountain. Barely the two escaped from the avalanche. They were the first on the scene of the accident and helped to recover the dead and injured. Two years later, Sebastian Haag is tragically killed by an avalanche at Shisha Pangma. Benedikt Böhm survives.- 2014
