The Tyrolean David Lama has climbed an 8a route already at the age of ten, and he has become several times Youth World Champion and European Youth Champion in bouldering and lead climbing. In 2010, at the age of 20 years, David decided to leave the indoor climbing and competition world behind him. Since then, he is focusing on Alpinism, the most difficult routes and first ascents in the Alps, but as well in India and America. This documentary portrays David Lama from his first climbing attempts as a little boy to his big adventures in present time. In the first episode 'Bergwelten on Tour' visits the Ötztal in Tyrol, the longest transverse valley of the Eastern Alps. A valley full of cultural and scenic diversity. It ranges from icy glaciers to gentle meadows, from high alpine rugged landscapes to the mild climate in the valley, from action-packed events to quiet and secluded retreats. Ernest Hemingway, who was called 'black, cherry-drinking Christ' by the locals, describes his experiences in Vorarlberg in his work 'Ein glücklicher Winter' and the ski tour from Schruns to Galtür in 'Gebirgsidyll'.- 2011

The ascent of the Hidden Peak via a new route, the first winter ascent of the mountain and the first winter crossing of an eight-thousander in the history of high-altitude mountaineering was Gerfried Göschl's great dream. For years he worked towards this adventure. He has been to Hidden Peak (Gasherbrum I) twice to prepare the routes, studied books and maps and thought through every possible problem. Together with the Swiss Cederic Hählen and Nisar Hussein from Pakistan, he chose the best and most experienced mountain comrades for this project and, together with Darek Zaluski from Poland, engaged a winter experienced alpinist and cameraman.- 2012
