David Lama - Das Unmögliche möglich machen
- 2014
- Austria
- 49 min
The Tyrolean David Lama has climbed an 8a route already at the age of ten, and he has become several times Youth World Champion and European Youth Champion in bouldering and lead climbing. In 2010, at the age of 20 years, David decided to leave the indoor climbing and competition world behind him. Since then, he is focusing on Alpinism, the most difficult routes and first ascents in the Alps, but as well in India and America. This documentary portrays David Lama from his first climbing attempts as a little boy to his big adventures in present time. We see famous locations, such as the climbing paradise on Lake Garda, the notorious Sagwand Face in the Zillertal Alps, and the 7.821m high Masherbrum in the Karakorum with its still untouched north east face.Climbing locations

Five climatic and scenic zones extend over the almost 70 km of the valley and are reflected accordingly in the cultural breadth of the valley.Climbing locations

For a long time, the Austrian climber David Lama wished to turn to Nepal. The family visit of his ancestors was only one part of the travel. The second reason was – what else could it be? – a mountain. The first ascent of the 6907m high Lunag Ri. This combination of a completely untouched summit and a challenging climbing part is all but commonplace. The Lunag Ri is very difficult on all its sides. Already several expeditions have tried their luck there. Together with the legendary climber Conrad Anker, David sets off to the highest, still unclimbed mountain in Nepal.Climbing locations

The central theme of this 'Hemingway documentary' is a massive ski tour that Hemingway, Dos Passos and their ski instructor Walter Lent undertook from Schruns to Galtür in Tyrol: 'We had a long march through the valley and finally up to the Madlenerhaus (1986 metres above sea level)'. Ernest Hemingway, who was called 'black, cherry-drinking Christ' by the locals, describes his experiences in Vorarlberg in his work 'Ein glücklicher Winter' and the ski tour from Schruns to Galtür in 'Gebirgsidyll'.Climbing locations

The ascent of the Hidden Peak via a new route, the first winter ascent of the mountain and the first winter crossing of an eight-thousander in the history of high-altitude mountaineering was Gerfried Göschl's great dream. For years he worked towards this adventure. He has been to Hidden Peak (Gasherbrum I) twice to prepare the routes, studied books and maps and thought through every possible problem. Together with the Swiss Cederic Hählen and Nisar Hussein from Pakistan, he chose the best and most experienced mountain comrades for this project and, together with Darek Zaluski from Poland, engaged a winter experienced alpinist and cameraman.Climbing locations
