The film was made in cooperation with the IV. Army Corps, Bolzano and the mountain rescue service Sulden-Ortlergruppe. The documentary is based on an accident that killed three mountaineers in 1968. In 1969 the mountaineering accident was filmed. The film was awarded several prizes: in 1972 with the prize for the 'best film for youth in nature in Cannes', in the 1970s with the 'Silver Knight from Malta'. Also in the 1970s the film was among the ten best at the 'The best comeptition' amateur film festival in London.

A film by Josef Hurton from the series 'Guest in South Tyrol'. The film portrays the first ascents of the Suldner mountains, especially the Ortles and the Königspitze. The well-known climber Hans Ertl defeated the Königsspitze in 1931 on a difficult route. In an interview he looks at this company from a distance of 50 years. The extreme climber Reinhold Messner comments in the film the alpine top performances of the mountain pioneers.
