Homo Montserratinus
Samuel Colomer (2016)
The documentary 'Homo Montserratinus. A story about human involution' proposes two ways of conceiving climbing, traditional and sporting, and deals with safety and how to relate to the environment. Shot in Montserrat, understood as a great referent of climbing and with the testimonies of different generations of climbers, it aims to reflect on the ethics, fear or risk of an activity that has historically been debated between these two disciplines.- 2016

Everest 82
Jordi Pons (1983)
Official film of the first Catalan expedition to Everest in 1982 by the difficult West Ridge, organized by the Centre Excursionista de Catalunya (CEC). Xavier Pérez Gil and Òscar Cadiach reached a height of 8,500m, but strong winds and the technical difficulties forced them to retreat. The expedition joined two generations of Catalan climbers: the veterans who made the first ascent of Annapurna West in 1974, and the young ones who made the first Catalan ascent of Everest three years later. In 1982, the West Ridge direct route, first attempted by a French team in 1974, had only been completed once, by a Yugoslav expedition in 1979.- 1983

Bergsteiger in Spanien - Montserrat
Lothar Brandler (1961)
In 1961 Lothar Brandler traveled to Spain to film three shorts about mountaineering in Spain for the german television. In this episode, the action takes place in the needles of the Montserrat Massif. Four climbers leave Barcelona by motorcycle to Montserrat. Josep Manuel Anglada and his wife Eli Verges climb a needle named Cavall Bernat; Jordi Riera and Manel Cervera make a difficult roof on another needle named La Cadireta. Both teams join at the top of Cavall Bernat as if they were climing the same needle, but this meeting is just an artistic license for the film, as both teams were climbing on separated needles.Bergsteiger in Spanien - Montserrat
