The documentary follows the climber Jean Christophe Lafaille in his attempt to reach the top of Makalu (8,463 m), the fifth highest mountain on the planet, alone and without oxygen. This is the bittersweet chronicle of an extraordinary challenge experienced by two people, far away from each other but united by a single purpose, Jean Christophe Lafaille and his wife Katia. With images recorded by Lafaille himself, the film follows the last hours of the climber's life in his last and tragic adventure. Lafaille disappeared on January 27, 2006.Climbing locations
