    En la montaña

    Lorenzo Cebrian (1973)

The mountain is the salvation of the oppressive trauma of city life. The film starts with images of heavy traffic and busy life in the city. Then we see a group of mountaineers skiing up to the Veronica hut in the Picos de Europa. Starting from the hut, the group makes a rock climb ascent on the wall of El Torreón, in Los Galayos. Although the ascent is presented as if it was done from the refuge, the rock pinnacle is in another mountain massif in Spain. The film is an episode of the 'Imágenes del deporte' series from the NO-DO, the state-controlled series of cinema newsreels produced in Spain during the Francisco Franco's dictatorial regime.
