Snepyramiden
Mario Fantin (1961)
A diary of the Monzino expedition on the west coast of Greenland, carried out in July-August 1961. It included Guido and Franco Monzino (cousin of the manufacturer, who died in a car accident a month after the expedition), Mario Fantin, Jean Biche and the other guides of Valtournanche Pession, Antoine and Leonardo Carrel, Cerrutelli, Sartelli and Cap. Barberis, commander of the 'yacht'. It reaches the 74th parallel by plane and then travels along the coast of the island by boat. At a certain point the itinerary of the expedition underwent a forced change because the Italians had heard by radio of a mountaineering disaster affecting a group of Belgian climbers. They change course and in a generous race of human solidarity bring help to the victims.- 1961

Punte d'acciaio nella fucina dei Grivel
Mario Fantin (1957)
An irreplaceable part of the mountaineer's equipment is represented by those 'steel points' called crampons, ice axes, rock and ice screws. Their manufacture is presided over by a loving and experienced craftsman like the Grivel brothers. With these tools, Arturo Ottoz climbs lightly and safely on the ice. These images are the last shot in the life of Ottoz, the 'knight of the White': two months later he died on 'his' mountains, victim of passion and generosity. The film puts in dialectic the artisan furnishings of the climbers with the industrial plants of mountain locomotion, and deduces considerations and ideas to meditate on.Punte d'acciaio nella fucina dei Grivel

Primum - Non nocere!
Mario Fantin (1957)
The film aims to indicate the simplest ways to bring the injured person in the mountains closer to the doctor, without taking initiatives that could - perhaps in perfect good faith - damage the injured person. Immobilizing a fractured limb, meditating on a wound, stopping an amorrage, transporting it with a sleigh, ski or stretcher; these are the most frequent cases that need to be dealt with without wasting precious time or exceeding in zeal.- 1957
