In Chamonix, at the foot of Mont Blanc, passionate mountaineers, families, the Hautevolee and locals meet. In the high season, everything revolves around mountain sports - and the highest mountain in the Alps at 4,810 metres. Around a thousand people try the ascent every year - ten of them pay for it with their lives. Many of them underestimate the less difficult normal route from the Goûter Hut. But crevasses, weatherfalls and avalanches often mean fatal dangers. '360° Geo Reportage' has visited people whose lives are closely linked to Mont Blanc.Climbing locations

Located in the heart of the Patagonian pampas, in Argentina's Chubut province, Piedra Parada's monolith rises up from the surrounding desert. Lying just to the north, the majestic La Buitrera Canyon was home to the Petzl RocTrip in November 2012. For more than a week, climbers from all over the world came together to share a common passion: climbing. Thanks to the hard work of a team of Argentinean and international route developers, La Buitrera Canyon, 5 km long with towering cliffs up to 200m high, is now one of Argentina's major climbing spots. For the tenth edition of the Petzl RocTrip, more than 1500 people climbed in the wind, dust, heat, and cold, for an unforgettable Patagonian experience!Climbing locations

Azazel is the story of four friends who travel to Pakistan to put up a new route on the Trango Pulpit, a 6000m peak. They spent 20 days on the wall and Sam Beaugey did the first BASE jump from the summit, making a descent a little shorter than his little comrades. The route was mostly aid-climbed, and the climbers took their own footage. Guillaume Broust edited the movie and put together this great story about friendship. The film won several film festival awards, including the 2008 Banff World Tour.Climbing locations
