Martín Zabaleta

El sentimiento de la montaña is a documentary about alpinism that takes place in Matterhorn and Everest. It was directed by Sebastián Álvaro in 2002 and produced by RTVE. It is a part of the series Al filo de lo imposible. It features Sebastián Álvaro, Juanito Oiarzabal, Eduardo Martínez de Pisón, Ferran Latorre, Juanjo San Sebastián, Reinhold Messner and others.

El gigante blanco is a documentary about alpinism that takes place in K2. It was directed by Sebastián Álvaro in 1989 and produced by RTVE. It is a part of the series Al filo de lo imposible. It features Koldo Tapia, Txema Cámara, Alberto Posada, Martín Zabaleta, Javier Alonso, Abdul Karim 'Mister Karim' and others.

In 1974 the first Basque Everest expedition had to retire 300 meters below the summit because of the monsoon. That first Basque attempt to climb Everest in 1974 left a feeling of frustration to Basque mountaineering. Six years later, in 1980, Martín Zabaleta, together with Sherpa Pasang Temba, members of the second Basque Everest expedition, reach the roof of the world. The film shows images from both expeditions. The first expedition was filmed in 35mm by Fernando Larruquert and Angel Lerma; the second was filmed in Super 16mm by Juan Ignacio Lorente, Martín Zabaleta and other members of the expedition.
