    In 1999, the Swiss television produced in collaboration with the West German radio broadcast the Eiger North Face Live. The Swiss mountain professionals Evelyne Binsack, Stephan Siegrist, Hans Ruedi Gerts and German Ralf Dujmovits climbed 9 and 10 September the Eiger in 30 hours during a live broadcast. Filmed while they were in the wall of cameras whose positions were very flexible use by helicopters. In addition, a five-kilometer away from the wall camera was used and the climbers wore special helmet cameras. During the transfer, there were high ratings (Switzerland: 63%).

    On September 9th and 10th, 1999, Swiss television made a live broadcast of an ascent of the north face of the Eiger by Evelyne Binsack, Hansruedi Gertsch, Ralf Dujmovits, and Stephan Siegrist. They were followed by 13 cameras. In addition, they were equipped with helmet cameras, microphones, and mini-transmitters. This documentary is a retrospective of the two-day live show and shows in detail how the climbers climbed from the bottom to the summit by the Heckmair route. The film provides a first-hand insight into the wall and the demanding and strenuous work of the climbers.

In another roped party goes the 89-year-old mountain guide Ulrich Inderbinen, who completes one of his 371 ascents to the mountain. The climb was broadcasted live on Swiss television. This is the summary of the big live broadcast, a program that combines moments of the ascent with brief portraits of the protagonists.
