This documentary shows how the fiction film "Premier de Cordée" and "La grande Crevasse", inspired by Roger Frison-Roche's famous work, were shot. Seated comfortably in easy-chair, it is difficult to imagine all the preparations needed to make a film in the mountains. To satisfy this legitimate curiosity Benoit Amon followed the work of these two films in the Chamonix setting.Climbing locations

Adaptation for the television of the novel by Roger Frison-Roche 'La grande crevasse'. The story is in the same context as 'Premier de cordee' but is not centered on the same characters. It tells the love story of Zian, a mountain guide, and Brigitte, a Parisian bourgeois. Their love is thwarted by the cultural difference between the two as well as by the cold welcome that is reserved for Brigitte, the stranger in this mountain environment. In the end, Brigitte understands that she is really in love with Zian who dies after a fall in a crevasse, during a hunting trip in the mountains.Climbing locations

The idea is a simple one: three alpinists climb in the Mont Blanc Massif. This situation brings one face to face with the dangers of the mountain: avalanches, crevasses, fog, the climbing of the rocks, roping up, etc. All of this is magnified, transcended by a remarkable and strong use of the language of cinema. One of the first films about high mountains with Roger Frison-Roche and magnificent music by Maurice Jaubert.Climbing locations
