Deutsche Diamir Expedition
Karl Maria Herrligkoffer (1962)
The film documents the conquest of the Diamir face of Nanga Parbat by a German expedition. With a long march of approach, overcoming difficulties of all kinds and degrees, the climbers slowly advance up to 7200 meters above sea level. After being blocked for a day and a night because of the bad weather conditions, they attacked the summit, which they managed to conquer on 22 June 1962. Unfortunately, on the next day, on the way back, a member of the expedition crashes, resulting in a fatal injury to the head. Two other mountaineers, hit by freezing, were barely saved.- 1962
