    Bavarian Direct

    Franz Hinterbrandner (2013)

The brothers Alex and Thomas Huber, together with the Tyrolean Mario Walder join forces in the summer of 2012 on the island of Baffin to complete the liberation of Bavarian direct (700 m of route and originally ranked as 6b/A3) in the South Tower of Mount Asgard. Its chaining, made in roped style alternating the pitches, places this route in the second step of the difficulty in Arctic rock (with a maximum degree of 8a+, very close to the 8b that the brothers Pou and Hansjörg Auer gave to their 'The door' in Perfection Valley). The Germans solved the pitch left by the Belgians and Silvia Vidal in 2009. In the film the Huber brothers meet the German team that opened the route in 1996 and the Belgian team who almost free-climbed it in 2009.

    Sean Villanueva O'Driscoll (2017)

Having previously explored the coast of Baffin on board the famous Dodo’s Delight Nicolas Favresse & Sean Villanueva decide to return on a big wall free climbing expedition in the month of July which is rumoured to have better weather. However with the sea ice breaking up access is close to impossible. Joined by three Italian climbers ( Matteo Della Bordella, Matteo De Zaiacomo & Luca Schiera) they approach with skis on the frozen sea in June and find themselves voluntarily stranded for almost two months in a Yosemite like valley full of unbelievable big walls where everything is there for the taking. Nico and Sean are renowned musicians, but what instruments can the Italians bring to the concert? And how good is their singing?

    Mad in Madagascar

    Sean Villanueva O'Driscoll (2015)

In August 2015, Siebe Vanhee and Sean Villanueva took off on an adventure in the Tsaranoro massif in southern Madagascar, Africa. They saw an important unclimbed line at Tsaranoro Atsimo Armado with a drill, skyhooks and thirst for exploration we boarded the ground face up. This was very different from other first ascents they had made, as they usually do not bring an electric drill, and very rarely a bolt is placed. However, these walls are so white and deprived of cracks and other features to place natural protections. Going ground into this unknown vertical ocean of granite was very exciting and gave them a real challenge. This video shows their adventure.
