    Pobeda

    (2018)

Sakha is a region of highs, lows, and little else. It’s home to Pik Pobeda, the highest mountain in Siberia, and where the lowest temperature in the Northern Hemisphere was recorded - a deadly -71.3C. It’s also the desolate and hostile landscape in which alpinists Tamara Lunger and Simone Moro found themselves in February 2018, preparing to attempt the first-ever winter ascent of this 3003m frozen monolith. A record-setting expedition in an environment that makes rescue impossible.

Simone Moro and Tamara Lunger are a rope team with ambitious goals and an age difference of 18 years. A passionate winter mountaineer, Simone already has a track record of many achievements. So far, responsibilities were clearly divided: Simone as master and Tamara as his student. However, when they undertake the world’s highest eightthousander traverse at Mt. The great crossing

    Stefan Fritsche (2014)

The quartet with Tamara and Hansjörg Lunger and the two Austrian camermen Matthias Aberer and Stefan Fritsche will be crossing the Braldu glacier in Pakistan with pulke sleds from 31 March 2013. At the beginning the feat seemed to be completely unsuccessful, as large crevasses and huge seracs set them on the way making even just approaching the mountains almost impossible. Nevertheless, on April 10, the group managed to acclimatize by climbing a mountain (5619m) in the Braldu area.

    K2 and the invisible footmen

    Iara Lee (2015)

Statistically, for every four climbers who summits K2, one of them will die, and the mountain has the second highest fatality rate among the world's highest peaks. 'It's the father of all mountains...one mistake and you're dead', warns one climber. As the climbing season only lasts from May through to August, porters must make enough money in these months to support themselves through the rest of the year. 'It's difficult to make ends meet... there is no other source of income', complains one: of his seven children, he can only afford to send two of them to school.

    Tamara

    Christian Schmidt (2015)

In 2012, Tamara Lunger saw the 8,611-meter summit of K2 for the first time. The sight of it was awe-inspiring, not least because K2 is considered the most dangerous of the 8,000-meter peaks: More than 80 climbers have lost their lives here. Still, in 2014, the 28-year-old made her way back to Pakistan with alpinist Nikolaus Gruber to take on the biggest challenge of her mountaineering career. Between fear, passion and happiness—this is a portrait of a woman who lives and loves extremes.
