    Aweberg

    Aweberg

    Will Gadd (2006)

Will Gadd and Ben Firth are two top Canadian ice climbers. They thought climbing "awesome" bergs would be a lot of fun, so the Aweberg trip was born. The bergs looked great, but the reality was somewhat different. Note that the sounds of the picks in the film are much quieter than in real life!

    Frozen Falls

    David Pearson (2015)

Professional climber and one of National Geographic’s Adventurers of the Year, Will Gadd, takes ice climbing to new heights as the first person ever to ascend the frozen sections of the world’s largest flowing waterfall, Niagara Falls in 2015. 'I checked out the spot we were thinking of climbing in the summer,' Gadd said. 'You'd be swept away by the torrential downpour then.' But this year's cold winter slowed water flow, allowing climbable ice to form. 'On a warm winter, there's no climb here.' A film by Bryan Smith and Dave Pearson from Reel Water Productions.
