    Solo di cordata DVD

    Solo di cordata

    Davide Riva (2015)

A faithful filmic portrait of the very strong solitary climber who, retracing his most famous mountaineering exploits and thanks to precious unpublished repertory materials together with the voice of his closest friends and climbing companions, recounts, with the thoughts and voice of Casarotto himself, the human research hidden behind the need for mountaineering action immersed in the wildest nature. A collection of unknown images and thoughts that shed light on the human complexity and eclecticism of a man who, with his will and technique of ascent, has accomplished extraordinary feats many of which are still unsurpassed and never repeated today.

    Luca Bich (2014)

Kurt Diemberger is the first man to have reached the peaks of Dhaulagiri (8167 metres) and Broad Peak (8047 metres), two of the legendary fourteen peaks above 8000 metres in altitude. He is the only man in the world with Hermann Buhl to have won two '8000' for the first time. In this film, served by images of bewitching beauty, mixing the warm light of the Dolomites with the heroic whiteness of the great Himalayan premieres, alternating the high precision of digital images with the elegance of the grain of the film, director Luca Bich pulverizes the traditional framework of mountain cinema by delivering a powerful work on the last of the giants of alpinism.

    Tom

    Angel Luís Esteban Vega (2015)

Tom lives with his father James on a campsite in the Dolomites, living off James’ small pension. Even though his mother, the great British alpinist Alison Hargreaves, died descending K2 when he was just six years old, Tom always wanted to be a climber. His whole life is dedicated to the mountains and his last goal is to climb solo the Six North Faces of the Alps in a single winter season. Nobody’s ever done it, and he wants to be the first. We knew Tom just a couple of weeks before he began his winter project. His personal story and his solo winter project deserved to be told, so together with Ruggero Arena, photographer and climber, we decided to begin shooting.
