Chris Bonington - The Everest years DVD

Chris Bonington - The Everest years

    Allen Jewhurst (1987)

Everest is beyond all but a few of us. It's nothing complicated that leads Chris Bonington back to the Himalayas as one of the world's most respected mountaineers - just a simple overwhelming love of mountains and rock-climbing, and a mind clearly focused on what he does supremely well. The sublime heights and deep tragedies that come with tackling the world's most awesome challenges, the exultation of the summits and the loss of dearest friends, are witnessed in this film. Both a record of some of the most remarkable achievements in climbing, and a tale of a family and a home in the English Lake District, the contrast between these twin sides of the man has led to a heartfelt life powerfully lived.
