    Veronica Palcová (1995)

Portrait of Vilém Heckel (1918-1970), photographer and climber. His photos of the mountains and landscapes are still among the most beautiful and the most disturbing ever created. In 1958 and 1962 he took part in expeditions to the Caucasus, and in 1965 he was a member of the first Czechoslovak expedition to Hindushu in Afghanistan. Five years later, he took part in a Czechoslovak expedition to Peru, where he died with all the other members of the expedition in an earthquake under the avalanche that ravaged their camp under Huascaran Mountain.

    All roads lead to Scotland

    Matt Hardy (2016)

Opposites attract. There isn’t a more appropriate statement to describe the unlikely yet formidable climbing partnership that is Nick Bullock and Tim Neill. They met on the mountains of Scotland in winter, and despite walking their own paths in the mountaineering world they are both drawn inexorably back there each winter. The fickle conditions that define Scottish winter climbing frequently lead to frustration, but the prospect of discovering an obscure gem presents an irresistible allure to them both.
