    Génération Dry

    Gaëtan Raymond (2016)

Dry tooling, ice climbing on suspended structures, is an activity that has been expanding in recent years, almost everywhere in France. From the experienced mountain climber to the occasional indoor climber, everyone wants to try. The film will show the various facets of the activity, its development, its practices and practitioners as well as its 'applications', thanks to the testimony of several major actors in this discipline. The focus will also be on climate-related issues. These last seasons are increasingly poor in ice due to the winter heat.

    Face to face

    Bertrand Delapierre (2016)

The north face of Eiger, at 1800m the highest in the Alps, still exerts an irresistible pull on mountaineers. Lorenz Frutiger and Louis Laurent revisit this mythical face in order to discover what makes it great, to embrace its verticality pitch by pitch, and to share the myth of the Eiger.

    Eisliebe - Die Jaspers

    Eisliebe - Die Jaspers

    Jurgen Eichinger (1999)

Mixed climbing, that is on ice and rocks, is one of the most adventurous techniques of climbing and it holds a strong attraction for Robert Jasper, one of the best mountaineers in the world. He has done some of the most difficult climbs in the Alps, the fastest climb of Cerro Torre in Patagonia, sports climbs up to grade 10 and expeditions to various mountains in the world. Daniela, his companion on the mountains and in life, seems to be at her ease in the most difficult climbs and in the ice gorges. In winter 1997/98 Robert and his wife managed, in Wallis, to complete a mixed climb of four lenghts of rope called the ' Flying Circus', one of the most difficult routes in the world and so severe that the Jaspers could claim a new grade of difficultty.

    Die grossen Nordwände

    Die grossen Nordwände

    Gerald Salmina (2016)

North faces are the epitome of extreme mountaineering. This is particularly true of the north faces of the Eiger, Matterhorn, Grandes Jorasses, Piz Badile, Großer Zinne, Petit Dru and the Drei Zinnen - in the 20th century they embodied the goals a mountaineer must have set himself in order to belong to the elite. To this day, they are playgrounds of extremes. The documentary shows the large north faces of the Alps from a surprising perspective. World-renowned top mountaineers such as Hansjörg Auer, Alexander Huber and Robert Jasper demonstrate the art of climbing at the highest level with first ascents and solo ascents.

    All roads lead to Scotland

    Matt Hardy (2016)

Opposites attract. There isn’t a more appropriate statement to describe the unlikely yet formidable climbing partnership that is Nick Bullock and Tim Neill. They met on the mountains of Scotland in winter, and despite walking their own paths in the mountaineering world they are both drawn inexorably back there each winter. The fickle conditions that define Scottish winter climbing frequently lead to frustration, but the prospect of discovering an obscure gem presents an irresistible allure to them both.

    Everyday

    Alex Lavigne (2014)

At a rating of M12, Musashi is one of the hardest mixed routes in Canada. Ten years ago, Outdoor Research Athlete Ambassador and ACMG Alpine Guide Sarah Hueniken saw a video of the route being climbed by renowned climbers Will Gadd and Ben Firth. This April, she ventured into Alberta’s Cineplex Cave and climbed it herself, becoming the first North American woman to successfully climb M12.

    Svalbard - špice Spitzbergna

    Boštjan Mašera (2007)

All three Slovenian expeditions to Spitzbergen (in 2005, 2006, and 2007) had to face logistical difficulties. Violent storms and temperatures in the region of minus 50 degree Celsius are not uncommon in the Polar Circle. The steep walls of the largest island of Svalbard - Spitzbergen - call for a completely different climbing approach from that required in the Alps, the Andes, or other mountain ranges around the world. And don't forget to watch out for polar bears!
