Under the sky and above the sea

Under the sky and above the sea

    Mark Turnbull (1996)

This film examines England's strangest rock climbing scene. Set amidst the sea cliffs of Dorset, this film tells the tale of the cult of 'Deepwater Soloing' and its origins; the emergence of the 'sport climbing' boom and the status of loose, hard, adventure climbing on the crumbly overhanging cliffs.

David Lama - Das Unmögliche möglich machen

    Hans-Peter Stauber (2014)

The Tyrolean David Lama has climbed an 8a route already at the age of ten, and he has become several times Youth World Champion and European Youth Champion in bouldering and lead climbing. Since then, he is focusing on Alpinism, the most difficult routes and first ascents in the Alps, but as well in India and America. This documentary portrays David Lama from his first climbing attempts as a little boy to his big adventures in present time. Slaydies

    Tara Kerzhner (2018)

Slaydies /slādēz/ noun – Ladies who slay, otherwise known as female climbers who crush while bringing as much joy to climbing as they do progress for women in the sport. In the fall of 2017, three pro climbers and two videographers traveled to Mallorca to sport climb, deep-water solo, and experience the overwhelming psych of having an all-female crew. Although Emily Harrington, Paige Claassen, and Margo Hayes, all grew up in the climbing scene near Boulder, Colorado, they had never done a climbing trip together just for fun.

    Una joya en el Mediterraneo

    Antonio Perezgrueso (2016)

Psicobloc is the name invented by the Mallorcan Miquel Riera, who has been practicing it in Mallorca since 1978. The British call it Deep Water Soloing. It is climbed without rope, as in short block climbing routes, but unlike this one, the lengths would force you to use it if there was no water underneath. Even so, the possibility of falling from 15, 20 or even more meters places us in a wild scenario with a risk of injury so real that it involves a hard psychological cost. Malta is the place chosen by the 'On the Edge of the Impossible' team to put the activity into practice and enjoy this first adventure.
