They work on the frontline to let everybody enjoy the mountain experience and not to be overwhelmed by its grandeur. These people can be considered some sort of 'mountain angels'. These are the 'Mountain Heroes', the first documentary series which shows the acts of heroism of a group of men and women who are members of the mountain rescue team. Watching over the safety of hikers and mountaineers, seven days a week, are the men with nerves of steel of Elikos and Aiut Alpin Dolomites.

    The film takes us, together with Luca Schiera and Matteo De Zaiacomo, to a remote and little-known country. 'But there are only two of you'? This is the question that a Russian expedition made welcoming the two youngsters in the valley of the Big Wall. With the satellite that they only took at the top of the walls, and therefore practically useless, Luca and Matteo lived a real adventure, of great alpine value (the 'usual' alpine style in free and visible climbing on the Big Wall that Luca also searched for and found in Oman, Patagonia and of course at Uli Biaho with Matteo Della Bordella and SIlvan Schupbach) and at the same time of great human depth for contact with the locals.

Matteo Della Bordella, Ragni di Lecco, Silvan Schupbach and Cristian Lederbeger, decide to explore a remote region of Greenland through a 200 km long Kayak Fjord. Once in the valley, they climb in incredible alpine style and free climbing on sight the untouched wall of the Shark Tooth, the shark tooth, on very high difficulties (7b+) and on a line of 900 meters. But it wasn't over yet...

    The quartet with Tamara and Hansjörg Lunger and the two Austrian camermen Matthias Aberer and Stefan Fritsche will be crossing the Braldu glacier in Pakistan with pulke sleds from 31 March 2013. At the beginning the feat seemed to be completely unsuccessful, as large crevasses and huge seracs set them on the way making even just approaching the mountains almost impossible. Nevertheless, on April 10, the group managed to acclimatize by climbing a mountain (5619m) in the Braldu area.

He managed the Franchetti refuge at Gran Sasso for a couple of years and then left for the Orient, from which he returned in 1973 with a new name, Engaku Taino, to open the farmhouse-monastery where he still lives, between climbing and Thai-Chi, on the hills of Orvieto.

Riccardo Cassin was an Italian mountaineer, most notably his pioneering ascents of the Alps in the 1930s and the Himalayas in the 1950s and 1960s, although he climbed all over the world. He also founded his own mountain equipment company. He died in 2009 at the age of 100.
